A century before the events of New York Times best-selling author George R. R. Martin's epic series, A Song of Ice and Fire, a squire named Dunk picks up the sword and shield of his dead master and enters a tournament to begin his career as a knight. But "Ser Duncan" has much to learn about this world of knights and nobles, and as he attempts to find a sponsor who will allow him to enter the tournament, he makes friends and enemies readily. Dunk is a capable fighter and has a strong sense of honor, but is that enough for him to become a true knight in the eyes of the others, or is he just a young man living a delusion and putting those he knows in grave danger?

Customer Rating: Summary: Misleading description Comment: THIS IS A GRAPHIC NOVEL! The problem is not the book -- it's the way it is marketed. From reading the description, I had no idea that this was essentially a fancy comic book. I was expecting ana actual novel. This got sent back for a refund. If you're looking for a graphic novel, this may be a good one (for all I know) but if you're expecting an actual novel, then you are being mislead.
Customer Rating: Summary: Confused Comment: I was expecting real book - continuation of Hedge Knight from Legends. So, I was disappointed very much. The beauty of George Martin's books is his language plus characters, fantasy and story itself. Hedge Knight comics remind me Mozart's opera "Marriage of Figaro" without Mozart's music. It is still funny story but not Mozart any more.
Does anybody know - are there real books that continue the Hedge Knight story that was finished as Dunk and Egg are going to Dorn? Did I miss the continuation? I read this story in Russian additions and never in English. All other Marin's books I read both languages.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Adaptation!! Comment: I don't have too much to add to what others have already said, but I would just like to say that the graphic novel was very true to the feel and plot of the original story by Martin. The art is so impressive that a lot of times I just stared at the larger pictures picking out all the detail I could. It's amazing!! Definately read this book if you are into collecting George R.R. Martin or if you simply love well crafted tales and beautiful art.
Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome Comment: Very well done book. I was so glad to see a hardback edition for this great story. The artwork is pretty good and the story was excellent.
Customer Rating: Summary: just wonderful Comment: OK, so my experience with graphic novels might be limited, but this was amazing. Great artwork, gripping story (can't wait for the next installment...), everything was just right. Plus, having a glimpse at Westeros a few centuries before the happenings of Game of Thrones is well worth the very mild price of this collection.
